Cassandra Ng
Artist’s Statement
Originally a figurative painter, during university Cassandra was challenged to try abstract and conceptual art practices. Her current body of work explores the concept of Synaesthesia, which is the crossing of senses where some people who hear music see colour. This form of Synaesthesia is called Chromesthesia. Being inspired by geometric abstraction, Cassandra creates paintings in morse code that tap out the lyrics to songs and combines them with carefully curated palettes to make works that have meaning and movement.
