Heidi Lai, a Sydney-based oil painter, showcases a unique style influenced by her Hong Kong upbringing. Amidst the fast-paced city life, she wonders if people may neglect the present moment. By silently observing human interactions and surroundings, she captures life's essence in her paintings. Dark hues and bold strokes convey motion and evoke vague memories. Through everyday subjects, her works connects with our emotions, building deep resonance.
Heidi, a self-taught artist since 2018, holds a Bachelor of Architecture from UNSW (2010). Currently pursuing a Master of Business Information Systems at Torrens University (2023). Milestones include a solo exhibition at Brunswick Street Gallery (March 2023), a group exhibition at Aspire Gallery (March 2023) where her work won the People's Choice Award, and participation in The Other Art Fair Sydney (May 2023).
