
Nakisha Jamieson
Artist’s Statement
Nakisha Jamieson (b 1998, Sydney Australia) is a Northern Rivers artist that creates biomorphic soft sculptures out of the debris left by telecommunication technology. Her works connect the practices of craft with digital technology, to explore contemporary society’s relationship to digital communication and digital waste.
Biography
Nakisha Jamieson has recently completed a Bachelor of Fine Art at the National Art School, Sydney, with a major in painting. She is currently living and working in Mullumbimby. Jamieson is a part of the artist collective Juice co (young emerging artists in the northern rivers) which aims to foster connection and community between young artists after the disabling times of the pandemic.
