Artist’s Statement
Oliver Ackland is an artist and actor, his abstract paintings span across figurative portraiture to more loose, gestural compositions. Ackland seeks to explore the relationship between colour and space, control and abandon.
Biography
Studying for a couple of years at COFA, he left to work both in Australia and The United States, in a variety of films and television projects, before he started practicing and exhibiting as an artist. Having lived in London and then Los Angeles, Oliver is now based and working in Sydney. Inspired by the worlds of art, film and music, Oliver establishes a fresh, vibrant and distinct visual voice.
