90 x 60 x 4 cmOil on canvasSoldMy 4yo daughter and I hiked to the top of a mountain to explore a set of massive boulders, known as Mushroom Rocks. The rocks were enormous, balancing in the landscape in absolute stillness. The bright green moss caught the sunshine, creating crisp curved edges amongst the forest. The painting captures the top edge of one of these boulders fringed in bright green moss and set against a white sky. The piece aims to bring a sense of that place to the viewer and over time invites a relationship into the landscape.
