Having recently taken up life drawing I was wanting to use the many sketches and figure studies in larger upscaled works. Drawing with spray paint over earlier abstract works gave the resulting figures volume and depth. There is also an edgy street dynamic to the work, with the textures of weathered and cracked paint, and vivid colours of graffiti type mark making.
Drawing on a large scale tended to abstract the figures even further, as the spray can needs to move fast, and there is only one of two chances to get it right. This is one of the first experimental works… am very happy with the result.
