This series is was inspired by the Artist's journey into motherhood and celebrates family life. These figurative portraits capture "perfect" moments in time between family members and the title of the series pays homage to the different family dynamics that exist in today's society.
The inspiration for the composition, colour and playfulness of the work was directly inspired by Matisse's "Cut-out" series. Trajkovski has used coloured blocks, almost like children's wooden play blocks to bring the shapes to life. She has applied acrylic paint in meticulous fashion & although simple in their form, the figures are emotionally connected and form lively compositions.
Trajkovski used her imagination to come up with a way to produce these works whilst being time poor. She paints in a meticulous way, but these paintings are never completed in one siting. They are produced over weeks, one shape at a time. This method allows Trajkovski to maintain a balance within in her art practice and her family life.
